| Safari! |
| The word Safari originated from the Arabic word safar, which means to travel and became a Kiswahili noun meaning journey. For most ancient Swahili people, it also meant encountering the teeming herds of wildlife and predators of their native land, the Serengeti Plains. Just think… before long you too can be on Safari, in the bush, smelling the earthy smoke of campfires burning the hardwoods, and hearing lions roaring in the distance. This is what we do on Safari. |

| Game Drives |
| In general, most Safaris are centered on Guests participating in two game viewing activities per day. Most activities last two to five hours and are conducted when the wildlife is most active, which is early morning, late afternoon and nighttime (by spotlight where permitted) in an open 4-wheel drive vehicle. At African Temptations, we prefer arranging for fewer Guests per vehicle and destinations with fewer vehicles to ensure a minimal impact on the environment and to maximize game viewing opportunities for our Valued Guests. The advantage of our private Safaris (which can include a private vehicle, ranger, and tracker), is that Guests are free to explore their own interests, and can spend as much time as they want photographing/viewing certain animals and doing things at a pace that suits them. |

| Game Viewing |
| Game viewing consists of driving around the wilderness with a guide (and sometimes a tracker) in search of wildlife. Together, you will seek out animals by following their tracks and signs. Sometimes your driver will actually go off the road so that you can have a close up viewing experience. Viewing normally includes the “Big Five” (lion, elephant, leopard, Cape buffalo and rhinoceros), as well as other mammals and many bird species. Your guide helps you to interpret and understand what you are seeing in the bush. |

| Optional Activities |
| The game viewing experience is complimented by other activities such as walking Safaris led by experienced and armed trackers, stargazing, bird watching, moonlit dinners, and private bush breakfasts. For the remaining parts of the day you are free to relax at the pool, take siestas, or explore all that the lodge has to offer. In the evening Guests meet in the ”Boma” for pre-dinner drinks around a blazing log fire, followed by meals which can be set in various locations. |

| Safety |
| African Temptations also offers smaller camps and lodges that are unfenced, and that allow wildlife to walk around the grounds. To ensure your safety, your personal night porter escorts you safely to and from your suite during the dark hours of early morning and night. |
